What is an Angle Globe Valve?

An angle globe valve is a modified version of the straight globe valve, with the ends positioned at a 90° angle. The angle globe valve is designed to support fluid flow in pipelines at a right angle (90°). It generates a low-pressure drop due to its unique configuration. How does it work?

An angle globe valve operates by using a movable disc or plug element to control the flow of fluid through a pipeline. The valve body typically consists of an inlet and an outlet connected by a passage, forming an angle with the direction of flow. Inside the valve body, there is a disc or plug that can move perpendicular to the flow path. When the valve is open, the disc or plug is lifted away from the valve seat, allowing fluid to flow through the passage. Conversely, when the valve is closed, the disc or plug is pressed against the valve seat, blocking the flow of fluid. The movement of the disc or plug is controlled by a stem connected to an actuator, which can be manually operated or automated. By turning the actuator, the stem moves up or down, adjusting the position of the disc or plug to regulate the flow rate or pressure of the fluid.
